Into the Heart of the Sangoma by Ann Mortifee
Longtime Hollyhock friend and heralded Canadian musician Ann Mortifee has based this latest album on her reverence for South Africa, where she was born and lived the early part of her life. A Sangoma is an African shaman who mediates between the spirit, human, plant and animal worlds. A series of dreams Ann had a number years ago and events led her to the head Sangoma of the Zulu nation. This incredibly moving album is the fruition of her experiences.

This new CD by Shine and Zach features one hour of Didjeridu, percussion, vocals and more. Recorded at the Hollyhock Sanctuary, Journeys is a culmination of playing and working together for many years, conducting Didjeridu sound therapy sessions and teaching the ancient art of Didjeridu playing at Hollyhock each year. This first release by these two artists is a convergence of their years of creating and working together in Harmony.
