Mindfulness Based Stress ReductionJun 13 - 18, 2010
Presented by: Janet Solyntjes
Discover the inner strengths you possess for facing and meeting life’s challenges. Learn to pay full attention to the present and reduce your stress, whether it comes from illness, chronic pain, personal crisis, or simply the often-taxing reality of day-to-day living. Acquire tools for meeting life’s demands with peace and clarity. Explore sitting and walking meditation, yoga, body scanning and restorative periods of silence. Inspired by the work of Jon Kabat-Zinn, we focus on the cultivation of mindfulness: clear, non-judgmental attention to the present moment, with regard to the ongoing experience of body, feelings, emotions, and mind. Janet Solyntjes, M.A., CYT, is a senior teacher in the Shambhala Buddhist tradition, Adjunct Professor at Naropa University, a certified yoga teacher and guest meditation teacher at Omega Institute for Holistic Studies. A practitioner of mind-body disciplines since 1977, she has trained in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction with Jon Kabat-Zinn and Saki Santorelli of the Center for Mindfulness at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. www.thecenterforcourageousliving.com TUITION: $575 CDN (meals & accommodation extra) / 5 nights
