Learn meditation techniques that activate your senses and help you write in more fully embodied language. Study the stories we tell ourselves, and investigate reading and writing as practices of wisdom and compassion. In a supportive and nonjudgmental environment, share work, study craft, and talk about your discoveries and challenges. Leave with foundational meditation and writing practices that you can use in your busy life. This workshop is open to writers and meditators who want to explore these parallel contemplative paths. All levels are welcome. Ruth Ozeki is the author of the novels My Year of Meats and All Over Creation. She practices Zen Buddhism, lectures, and teaches creative writing around the world. www.ruthozeki.com Kate McCandless is a poet, Zen priest, and clinical counsellor working in hospice and bereavement care.
