Digital Photography: Capturing the Light

Jul 16 - 21, 2010

Steinberg

Presented by: Charles Steinberg

  • The Arts

Your camera clicks; a unique creation. A spectrum of light, emotion and intention tells the inner story of your image. This is the most exciting moment in the creative process; where the light outside and light inside come together. Create images and, in group discussions, receive instruction in composition, telling the story, and seeing the light, along with technical subtleties of exposure compensation, depth of field, motion and blur. Find inspiration in Cortes’ beauty, the special light, Hollyhock’s amazing garden, and the always-changing sea and sky. Beginners learn to use their digital cameras, while experienced photographers expand their skills and creativity.

One Day Photoshop Program - July 20 - The final full day of the five night program is being opened as a one-day program and will be dedicated to learning the basic use of Photoshop to perfect, modify or play with images: cropping, leveling, adjusting contrast, sharpening to lighten or darken, plus exploring the finer tools as well. A trial Photoshop software disc will be available. (Included in the tuition cost of the both programs.)

A digital camera permitting manual settings is required. A laptop is optional but highly recommended for the Photoshop segment.
