Digital Storytelling From The Heart - Vancouver
Mar 21, 2014
Presented by: Jordan Bower
Tune your online voice. Social and transmedia offer artists, activists, and thought leaders new ways to build connections with your audience. Discover how to make yours stand out. The Internet is more than a collection of data. It is actually an instrument of feeling -- whether the feeling of loneliness abated or wisdom shared. How does your song fit in? Through critical analysis and discussion, you'll recall your own vitally important melody, learn to create stories that are curing -- not viral -- and experiment with novel approaches to inspiring connection, wonder, and action.
Jordan Bower is a storyteller exploring cross-media myth making. After a unique 2010 photography exhibition -- called "one of the most intriguing" of the world's largest photography festival by the Toronto Star -- Jordan turned a crowdfunding campaign (named Kickstarter's Project of the Day) into a 3,000 km solo walking journey from Canada to Mexico. A self-employed marketing strategist, crowdfunding campaigner, group facilitator, and digital storyteller, Jordan lives in Victoria, BC, where he is writing his first book, Pioneers of the Heart. jordanbower.com
