Contemplative Photography - Vancouver

May 4 - 6, 2012

Many world renowned photographers, after a life-time of applying their craft, speak about their art and life in contemplative terms. Explore and discuss the contemplative insights and compositional approaches of master photographers then apply the concepts in a day of fieldwork with one-on-one support. On the last day, the group gathers to muse, enjoy and gently critique favoured images. Take home broadened photographic abilities and deepened contemplative practice.

“Photography deals exquisitely with appearances, but nothing is what it appears to be.” Duane Michals
“Instead of using the camera only to reproduce objects, I wanted to use it to make what is invisible to the eye, visible.” Wynn Bullock

“The camera is an instrument that teaches people how to see without a camera.” Dorothea Lange
